Clear task completion?

This resets all task, mowing and snow-clearing progress to 0%, regrows the lawns, restores the snow and clears the last-completed dates saved in this browser. Your task list will stay in place.

Press a controller button while this page is focused to connect.

• Left stick: move and strafe; tilt gently to walk slowly.
• Right stick: look around and up / down.
• A: view a photo you are facing, or select a menu item.
• B: close a photo, menu, or dialog; stand up from a chair.
• X: use doors, swings, canoes, chairs, the mower, the winter snow plow, the golf cart beside the basketball court, or the utility golf cart inside the maintenance workshop. In a vehicle, the left stick drives and steers; X or B parks and exits.
• Y: open season, time of day and quality. Menu (☰): open the site menu.
• D-pad / left stick: navigate menus; left / right changes a focused choice.
• Clipboard: choose Task list or mowing / snow-clearing progress from the site menu. L1 / R1 (LB / RB) turns the clipboard’s three sheets; D-pad browses entries and scrolls the notes; A selects; B puts it away.

Keyboard: W/S or ↑/↓ move, A/D strafe, ←/→ turn, F views a photo, E uses the nearby object, Escape closes a photo or stands up. Move to stand from a chair. In the mower, snow plow or golf cart, W/S or ↑/↓ drive and reverse, A/D or ←/→ steer, and E or Escape parks and exits. Wait for the entry or exit animation to finish before driving.

Mobile driving: slide left or right anywhere on the steering wheel with one thumb and use the pedals with the other. Short slides make gentle corrections; slide farther for tight turns. Lift your thumb to straighten up. The mower and snow plow have forward and reverse throttles. The golf cart has Brake and a variable Go pedal: slide up for more power, ease off to slow through electric braking, or lift off to stop. Select F or R while stopped to change the cart's direction. Lifting your finger releases each pedal.

Trash collection: use E, controller X, or the action button at a green trash can to collect a bag. Carry one bag at a time, load up to six in the utility golf cart’s rear tray, then take them out and put them into the large container beside the dining hall. Cans gradually refill over ten minutes. Bag and cargo progress are saved in this browser.

Stuck in a vehicle? Choose Respawn vehicle or press R to return with it to its starting location. On a controller, open the site menu and choose Respawn vehicle at start. Mowing and snow-clearing progress is kept.

On Steam Deck

Open the HTTPS site in your browser, then press a controller button. Add the browser as a non-Steam game and launch it through Steam with a Gamepad template, such as Gamepad with Joystick Trackpad. The D-pad navigates menus; use the left stick to walk.

If Chrome installed through Discover still reports no controller after a button press, switch to Desktop Mode and run this in Konsole to allow access to controller device information:

flatpak --user override --filesystem=/run/udev:ro com.google.Chrome

For Microsoft Edge installed through Discover, the equivalent command is:

flatpak --user override --filesystem=/run/udev:ro com.microsoft.Edge

Fully quit the browser afterward, then launch it through Steam in Gaming Mode and press a controller button. See Flathub’s controller troubleshooting and Microsoft’s Steam Deck browser setup for details. Tap the page once to enable ambient audio if it is silent.

Streamside was a special place for many of us.

This project aims to preserve something of the experience of walking around Streamside.

This is very much a work in progress - you'll likely notice objects missing or wrongly sized. We're working through these issues, but feel free to email us at info@rememberstreamside.org with inconsistencies you find.

Open source data from NAIP is used as a starting point for the terrain.

Add Streamside to your home screen or desktop to open it in its own window.

• iPhone / iPad: open the browser's Share menu and choose Add to Home Screen.
• Chrome / Edge: look for Install app in the browser menu or address bar.
• Safari on Mac: choose File → Add to Dock.

Choose Offline download in the site menu to save the walk on this device. Installation is optional.

Download the whole walk, including buildings, trees, all lighting and quality settings, photo previews and sound. Full-resolution photos load when opened if a connection is available. Download in the browser or installed app you plan to use.
